Easter Scrooge
- I have been so tired lately and lack the motivation to do things. Hence, no egg coloring for us. We kept meaning to do it, but Nate was working nights on the weekend and sleeping all day. There wasn't time that we could do it as a family. I know, poor excuse.
- The Easter bunny forgot to come Sunday morning. Okay, not completely. I did think about it as I was going to bed, but decided to wait until Monday morning when Nate could be there.
- I didn't take any pictures of the kids this year.
- I didn't even buy them Easter outfits. They wore clothes from my brothers wedding in September.
- After I had the baskets assembled, I took out all the green grass because I didn't want it getting drug all over the house. I know, I am lame.
But we did have a great Easter. To make up for all the slack on my part I decided to have a big Easter dinner here with 6 families. Crazy, I know, but it was fun. I was really worried about having so many people over, especially the ton of kids that would be running around (since our house is pretty small), but it turned out so fun. There was TONS of food, and everyone brought more then I expected them too. We have been living off of funeral potatoes and ham for the past couple of days. Yummy!
Oh, and I did do an egg hunt for my kids a couple of days before Easter, so I didn't slack off too bad. I just used plastic eggs and put jelly beans inside.
Oh, and one more thing. I decided to let the kids eat as much candy yesterday as they wanted to (mainly so it would get out of the house sooner). I never expected to find Dylan throwing it ALL up in the middle of the night. Yes, it was gross. I could hear him whimpering so I went to check on him and there was chocolate colored throw-up EVERYWHERE. On his blankets, pillow, sheets, down the side of his bed frame, on his pj's, and splattered in multiple places through out his room. Disgusting. I thought about taking a picture of it, but didn't think viewers would appreciate that. So I think I learned my lesson for next year. Give them candy sparingly.

A Tag
10 years ago I was...busy busy busy. I don't think I ever sat down to relax for a minute. I was in Grade 12 and to be exact, 10 years ago this weekend our high school basketball team was at Provincials in hopes of bringing home the banner that we so much deserved. Well, that didn't happen. We lost the championship game by 3 points and I don't remember when we all stopped crying over it. It was one of the worst games I had played that year too. We really wanted that banner to hang in our school, and we were expected to win.
5 things I did today... Well, since I haven't done much today yet, I will tell you what I did yesterday.
- Did some spring cleaning.
- Tried to take the kids to the library but didn't realize it was closed until we got there. (Apparently Good Friday is a holiday if you don't live in a Mormon populated area)
- Took the kids swimming with some friends at their apartment complex.
- Played Candyland with Dylan.
- Snuck into the ER so Nate could do an ultrasound to see if we could determine the sex of the baby. It's little legs were right in the way. (Or was that on Thursday?)
- Make visiting teaching appointments before the last day of the month.
- Go grocery shopping for Easter dinner tomorrow.
- Mail my sister's birthday present.
- Gather and hand in the receipts from our last enrichment.
- Clean out the van.
- I am a huge clean freak. ( I need to relax more about messes)
- I get stressed too easily.
- I tease people too much. I need to be more sensitive about their feelings.
- I currently hold more track and field records at the Hill Spring School then any other person that went there...and I am dang proud of that!!!!
- I have a very low attention span and my mind wanders very easily. Sometimes, I will sit through a whole Sunday School class without realizing what the lesson was about.
- I can't sleep with the sheets tucked in.
- I don't ever paint my finger nails. Ever. They are kept as short as can be. My toenails are always painted in the summer though.
- In grade 7, I put a tack on my teacher's chair and she sat on it. I did this a couple of times.
- In college, I took a ski class just to be with Nate. (Before we were dating)
- I have had a C-section and a regular delivery and I would much rather have a regular deliver this time around.
- We owned our mini-van before we had any kids. Long story.
A decision you're currently struggling with...
Should I pay 40 bucks to put Dylan in soccer this Spring? I mean, he is only 4 years old!
Hope you all enjoyed this. If you haven't done one of these, then feel free to join the club and fill one out now!

The Biggest Loser

Except the motivation part hasn't quite kicked in yet. When I watch Biggest Loser, you can usually find me eating a big bowl of microwave popcorn or a bowl of ice cream. Although these last couple of weeks I have been good. Apples and peanut butter. A little healthier.
Anyway, watch the show if you don't already. That's all.

Dylan's Birthday
Lots of little firefighters getting ready for some pizza!
Okay, this is why I am finished with trying to be a cool cake-decorating-mom. I'm done. It doesn't look anything like the picture online. Oh well, the kids loved it and it tasted realllllly good!
After the kids all left we had a relaxful afternoon and then we took Dylan and Cassie to see a movie. The only kids movie out there was The Spiderwick Chronicles. We were really hesitant, since it is a little above them, but we went and they both loved it. It was pretty scary in certain parts and it didn't even phase them. I guess they are used to watching The Lord of the Rings with Nate. I was surprised at how good Cassie was during the whole movie. I think the popcorn entertained her since she was eating it the WHOLE entire time. She smelled like popcorn the rest of the night.
So we came home and finally let Dylan open the family gifts (from us, cousins, grandparents). We were too tired to open them earlier in the day. He loved the whole present opening thing for the second time of the day. He wanted me to take a picture of him posing with every toy, but I only put up one. Here he is with Buzz:
Dylan is a great little kid. He has changed so much in the past year. He sure gave me a hard time as a baby/toddler, but nobody would guess that now. He is such a great little boy and I love him so much. I feel so blessed to have him be a part of my life! And one of my favorite things about him is..... his chubby little cheeks. I think he gets tired of me squeezing them and kissing them all the time!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DYLAN!
